About FurBabiesOnly

We were married over 5 years ago. Only two months after our wedding my wife, Sonja, was injured and had to have shoulder surgery. After the surgery I could tell she was in a lot of pain and we found out she was allergic to ALL pain killers. I thought it would be nice if she had a pet around since she was home alone all day. So after work we would go to the Humane Society almost every day for a couple weeks.

Then we found a pathetic little eight week old kitten with a broken tail. They assumed she had been abused and tossed out on the road she was found on.  We just had to nurse her back to health. We took her home with a runny nose and cruddy eyes.

Only to find out she was terrified of water and would only drink out of a lid from a water bottle. We named her Vegas since we had just spent our Honeymoon there and had such a wonderful time. Sonja was so diligent in working with Vegas and her fear of water, that now Vegas is obsessed with water whether it's in the sink or shower. You have to watch your water glass every second or she will have her foot or head in it.

She was an only child for a year. She seemed to need something to take care of. So once again we returned to the Humane Society. Since we had already adopted from the HS we felt comfortable asking if they had Siamese in foster care that may need us. We were taken to the back of the vets office and shown a box with a tiny, dirty, terrified, little fluff ball in it. It was explained that the rest of his litter and mother had been put to sleep because they had been abused in foster care, and that he would be put down also. Well we could not let that happen, so we brought him home.

He had such a bad respiratory infection that he could not breath if he laid down. So for the first couple weeks we would take turns holding him upright while he slept. Since the previous care takers starved him, he would carry food around in his mouth all the time.

Vegas hissed at him for about two days. After that she would not stop licking him. We thought he was going to go bald. The we decided to name him Einstein because he has crazy gray hair.

Even if he wanted to play she would hold him down and clean him from nose to tail, it is just what he needed. Now he is 20 pounds of purring, snuggling love.

Einstein still thinks he is a baby that needs to be cuddled all of the time, and he has learned to takes care of Vegas.

My mother-in-law also adopted two kittens from the Humane Society that needed lots of love. When she would go to work each day she would drop them off at our house so they would not be home alone.

As they grew it was hard to carry both kittens into the house. We found a pet stroller at the pet store at an exorbitant price and it was unsightly. I started looking on line to see if I could find one cheaper on line, with no success.

And then came along Bo our Chihuahua ........... more pictures to come.

Mo and her Comfort Pup

Since Mo was a baby she has loved the Comfort Pup bed.  Still to this day she drags the pup part of the bed, even though it is twice the size of her, onto mom's bed.  When it is time to go to bed she sucks on the nose and needs on the head.  It looks so uncomfortable the way she lays over it and has that nose in her mouth forever.  Even I have to admit it is pretty darn cute.  I am more interested in the bed part but she LOVES the pup part.  It must be because she has had it since she was a baby and thinks it is her mommy becuase of the heart beat.
